Arrowhead follows the gripping journey of Kye Cortland, portrayed by Dan Mor, a soldier caught in the crossfire of two warring factions whose ideologies he does not support. The film opens with a dramatic prison escape, depicting the chaos and bloodshed that ensues as Kye makes his daring bid for freedom. His actions capture the attention of Commander Tobias Hatch, played by Mark Redpath, who offers Kye a chance to secure his freedom in exchange for a high-stakes mission.
After a harrowing escape that leaves him maimed and unconscious, Kye finds himself in the enigmatic presence of Commander Hatch, who promises safe passage for Kye’s imprisoned father, provided he undertakes a dangerous operation to infiltrate the Arrowhead spacecraft and steal valuable information.
Reluctantly, Kye accepts the perilous mission, but fate takes a turn when his ship, the Arrowhead, crash-lands on a desolate moon, leaving him stranded. Alone in an alien environment, Kye engages with the advanced operating system on board the downed spacecraft, known as REEF, which is voiced by Shaun Micallef. As he gathers his bearings in the strange landscape, Kye quickly adapts to the nonsensical flow of time and space, all while becoming aware of a menacing alpha life form lurking nearby.
As he navigates the alien terrain, Kye is unexpectedly joined by fellow astronaut Tarren, played by Aleisha Rose, who becomes a temporary ally in this foreign world. However, their camaraderie is short-lived, and Kye soon faces losing her as well. As the passage of time grows more erratic, Kye’s grasp on reality begins to unravel, leading him to confront both external threats and the internal demons of his own psyche.
Ultimately, Kye must learn to survive in this hostile environment against not only the evolving life forms but also the trials that will challenge his very existence—both physically and spiritually. In this struggle for survival, Kye’s journey becomes a profound exploration of what it means to be human when faced with unthinkable odds.
