Tower Block

Late at night in the condemned Tower Block 31, 15-year-old Jimmy searches the empty flats for help. He bangs on doors as two masked men close in on him, and only Becky steps in to try to assist before she is beaten and he is dragged away. The chase sets the tone for the terror that will follow.

The next morning, Detective Constable Devlin canvasses the building door to door for clues about the previous night's murder. Nobody will speak to him, not even Becky, who claims her injuries were from a mugging. The boy's body has been found, and the case takes on a sense of claustrophobic fear.

Becky wakes up with Ryan in their flat after a one-night stand and breakfast; the mood shifts as shots rip through the window. Ryan is killed instantly, and the other residents are soon menaced as the sniper targets the whole block. The phones and internet fail and posters with emoticons appear on doors.

As panic spreads, the fire escape becomes exposed to sniper fire and the lift door is boobytrapped with a shotgun. Jeff is killed trying to reach safety, and Becky, Kurtis, and Paul retreat back to the top floor after the ground-floor exit is blocked by a skip. The tower tightens its grip as fear and mistrust grow.

Jenny, following the emoticons, goes back into her flat and is shot dead, along with her two young children. The other residents watch in horror as the death toll climbs, and the sniper's aim becomes indiscriminate. The building turns into a death trap as communication collapses and fear escalates.

The largest poster is placed on the door of Gary and Mark, and Kurtis forces them to admit they were the masked men who chased Jimmy. They confess they did not mean to kill him, but Kurtis drags them into their flat anyway. The sniper then shoots them, removing any hope of witnesses.

Believing the killers are dead, Carol flees for the stairs with Daniel. The sniper allows them onto the ground before taking their lives, killing them as punishment for not helping the police. The building's survivors realize the killer intends to execute everyone who stays silent.

With two days of isolation, the survivors decide to tie all the building's fire hoses together as a lifeline. Violet opens the roof door and is killed by another shotgun trap, cutting off that route. Becky, Kurtis, and Paul prepare to attempt a risky ascent to reach safety.

Becky and Kurtis carry on to the roof with Paul to descend the hose. Paul begins to climb down from the rooftop, but the sniper shoots the hose above him, causing it to snap and sending him to his death. The survivors stumble back inside, the fire risk rising as the building's violence continues.

In a final act of defiance, the survivors burn the top floor to draw attention and possibly aid. They then attempt to climb down the lift shaft to reach safety. Kurtis drops and breaks his leg, leaving Becky and the others to press on.

Kevin and his assistant Eddie arrive to assess the blaze, but the sniper shoots them at close range before they can call for help. A smoke grenade signals the gunman's entry into the building, trapping the remaining residents as danger closes in. The survivors brace for the final confrontation.

Becky and Kurtis manage to subdue the gunman and remove his mask, only to discover the attacker is Detective Constable Devlin, driven to violence by frustration and desperation. In a climactic struggle, Becky uses a nail gun to kill him. Sirens approach, signaling impending rescue.

The remaining survivors stagger outside as the sound of approaching emergency vehicles fills the air. They have endured a brutal siege and the mystery of Jimmy's death, now ending with the killer unmasked. The tower's tragic night ends with the hopeful but uncertain rush of help arriving.
