During a dinner, Nick is asked to perform an impromptu song and dance, mistakenly thinking he's just entertaining guests. His lively performance impresses the diners, including Hillary Flammond, but annoys General Streck, the mastermind behind the reunification plot. This event highlights Nick's accidental involvement in political intrigue.

Nick sees Hillary at a ballet performance where she expects to meet the resistance leader. Instead, police arrive, prompting Nick to intervene and help her escape. This marks the beginning of their alliance against the authorities.
