When a solidarity strike supports railroad workers, two sisters—one a dancer, the other a script supervisor at a major studio—find themselves drawn into union activism. A striking rail worker takes up residence with the sisters and their parents. Their father initially opposes the strike, but after losing his own job, his perspective begins to shift.
