On April 5, 1943 a Foreign Legion battalion reaches El Ksour, Tunisia to escort gold bars to the home front. A German ambush kills most, yet Sergeant Augagneur’s street‑wise tactics spark a counter‑attack. The bank manager, his wife and a German lieutenant join survivors as gold moves to Betahoua, Augagneur steals loot and Mahuzard keeps duty.
