An investment agent siphons a fortune from a wealthy estate and plots to conceal the theft by marrying the heir’s beautiful daughter. When he discovers she is already betrothed, he hires a hitman to eliminate the fiancé. A blunder involving the society page of a newspaper unintentionally exposes him to his own hired gun, turning his scheme against him.
