Francois Villon, a wandering poet and philosopher, travels to Paris with his friend Colin. En route they see an elderly couple evicted; Villon empties their purses to pay the beadle and help them. Later, starving, they steal from two monks, are caught and jailed. The film is among Chaney’s earliest surviving works.
