Trying to shed his swash‑buckling image, Douglas Fairbanks headlines the 1916 Western melodrama written by Anita Loos and directed by Allan Dwan. He plays Lo Dorman, a half‑Indian man ostracized after his white father abandons his Native mother. When he wins the affection of wealthy debutante Nellie (Jewel Carmen), the racist Sheriff Dunn (Sam De Grasse) schemes to separate them and claim Nellie. The arrival of fugitive Teresa (Alma Rubens) turns the rivalry into a four‑way conflict, forcing Lo to choose between love, duty and his own identity amid fiery confrontations.
