Set in neutral Holland during World War I, British officer Lewis Allison, interned after the war began, is paroled to serve at Baron von Leyden’s castle. There he finds his sweetheart Julie married to German officer Rupert von Narwitz. Their strained talks expose personal conflicts, and tension rises when the severely wounded von Narwitz returns.
