Prle and Tihi, the only survivors of their resistance group, flee Nazi‑occupied Belgrade to join Partisans in the countryside. In summer 1944 a wave of assassinations targets resistance sympathizers, forcing them back to Belgrade to investigate. To cross enemy lines they use the cars, uniforms and papers of a captured pro‑Nazi minister, who escapes and warns the Gestapo.
