Manager of opera singer Vicki Cassel and her uncle, a classical conductor, plot to shut the noisy nightclub next door. Owners Steve, a ladies’ man, and Jeff, his comic sidekick, try to keep it alive by courting Vicki and inviting her and her uncle. When Vicki favors pop music, her snobbish aunt and the manager move to close the club again. Undeterred, Steve and Jeff prepare a Broadway‑style show, securing financing from Vicki’s uncle on the condition she stars, while the aunt and manager continue to meddle.
