In 1996, Bruno achieves critical acclaim with the publication of his debut novel, earning comparisons to John Fante. Two decades later, nearing his fifties and having not published anything since, he lives a solitary life as a single man with no children, sharing his home with a young woman. While Bruno seems content, his family and friends grow concerned about his lack of creative output and decide to intervene.
