Roberto, nicknamed “El Suavecito” for his flirtatious, carefree ways, hurts his aging mother and neighbor Lupita, who hopes he’ll settle down. When Lupita finds a steady suitor, Carlos, Roberto enlists gambler “El Nene” to sabotage their relationship, but his plot backfires. The noir asks whether such a morally bankrupt gangster can find redemption.
