Ken Ogata plays Shiro Miyagi, a former Olympic‑hopeful sprinter whose career was ruined by WWII. Now a dissolute gigolo, he meets fiery young athlete Hiroko (Michiyo Yasuda) and, spotting her sprinting talent, becomes her coach. His strict, military‑style training helps Hiroko set a 100‑meter record, but she must pass the “sex check” for athletes.
