The Rains of Ranchipur

A skiff arrives with Fern; Ransome carries Edwina to the mission, and an explosion opens the blockage, causing floodwaters to recede. Safti realizes it was Ransome who risked his life to save the people. The town begins to see who acted for others when it mattered most.

Edwina, realizing the depth of her love for Safti, tries to explain that she must leave him for his own good with her husband. The Maharani’s scorn lingers, but Edwina ultimately departs Ranchipur with Esketh, wiping away a tear as she looks back. The film closes on a note of sacrifice and unresolved longing.
