The Pyramid

An archaeological team led by Dr. Miles Holden uncovers a three-sided pyramid buried beneath the desert. They bring in a remote-controlled rover to map the interior, but the rover goes offline, forcing the team to press on inside despite the setback.

With mapping halted, the team pushes deeper into the unknown passages. They press on in hopes of reaching the surface as the interior grows more alien.

An unstable floor collapses beneath the group, injuring Zahir; his leg is crushed and pinned beneath debris. The remaining team struggles to move forward while a sense of danger intensifies.

Sunni attempts to retreat after the collapse but is confronted by an emaciated feline creature. She fights to escape, but the creature blocks her path and forces a retreat deeper into the pyramid.

With Zahir incapacitated, the others press ahead to find a way out, leaving him behind to call for help. They hope to return, but the corridors close in behind them.

Moments later, Zahir's screams echo through the tunnel, and the team returns to find only his severed leg pinned under rock. The horror sinks in as they realize they cannot reach him in time.

The group is chased through a tunnel by a pack of creatures; an Egyptian soldier arrives to aid them but is slain by a larger predator. The team fights to escape as the threat closes in.

They discover a carved mural depicting passages from the Book of the Dead and a guide to immortality, including Anubis weighing hearts to judge worthiness. The mural hints at the pyramid's deeper purpose and the risks of seeking eternal life.

Sunni falls into a pit and is impaled on spikes; the creatures descend and attack as the team attempts a rescue. She succumbs to her injuries, forcing the group to retreat further.

The team discovers a burial chamber containing the corpse of a 19th-century explorer and his journal detailing a possible escape route. Holden studies the journal to determine whether the hint can lead them out.

A clawed hand bursts through Holden's chest, tearing out his heart. He collapses as the larger danger looms, and Anubis returns to weigh Holden's heart on a ritual scale, leading to Holden's death.

After Anubis leaves, Nora and Fitzie decipher hieroglyphs that reveal the pyramid was built to imprison Anubis, who seeks to reunite with his creator Osiris. They realize an escape might still be possible and search for a way out.

They locate an air shaft with a ladder left by a soldier, offering a potential exit. Anubis pursues them and kills Fitzie, leaving Nora and the god to finish the chase alone.

Nora is captured and tied to an obelisk, but she frees herself with a hidden blade. She wounds Anubis, who is then attacked by a horde of cats, allowing Nora to climb free.

Nora reaches the pyramid's exit and finds a child playing with her camera. Anubis suddenly appears from the dark and lunges at them as the screen cuts to black.
