Yang Guifei, the famed Tang concubine whose plump beauty set a standard, enthralled Emperor Minghuang. When An Lushan rebelled, the emperor fled with his court to Sichuan’s mountains, taking her along. Court jealousy and pressure from her brother forced strangulation there. Director Li Han‑hsiang’s adaptation dramatizes this tragic saga.
