Zero, a trombonist, sees Beatrix playing on a Sunday, falls in love, returns the next week to confess, and she reciprocates. Over the months they share cuddling and kisses until a letter summons Beatrix back to the palace in Kabul. Heartbroken, they part. Zero tries to approach a woman on a street but is mocked, leaving their romance’s fate unknown.
