His superior learns the news on a business trip to Paris and meets his old Hungarian friend Lendvay and Lendvay’s French wife in a cellar bar. Their talk changes Benkő’s view, and back home he decides to back Ambrus against general director Ferenczi, despite his wife’s advice.
