A satirical look at foreign occupation runs through two parallel stories: a medieval Czech jester entertains a German king and his French queen, and in present‑day Bohemia a Czech villager helps a Bavarian hunter and his French wife track wild boar. The narrative shifts back and forth between the eras, underscoring the repeating dynamics of power and cultural clash.
