Animas Trujano is a flamboyant yet reckless Indian in a tiny Mexican village. He dreams of becoming mayordomo, the highest village honor usually reserved for the wealthiest and most respected citizens. Though married, he cheats on her and gambles away every peso they earn. When chance appears, Animas tries to reform and earn the mayordomo title.
