Set in early‑18th‑century Sweden, where public executions are a popular spectacle and brothels are commonplace, both the executioner and a 17‑year‑old prostitute are shunned. The executioner was forced into his grim trade, reluctantly dons the black hood, while the girl was sold to a brothel and endures its nightly demands in silence. Their meeting sparks a fragile exchange that balances cruelty with tenderness and guilt with innocence.
