The Forsaken

Sean embarks on a road trip, driving a vintage Mercedes convertible from California to Florida. He is excited about the trip but aware that the car isn't his and he has strict instructions not to pick up hitchhikers.

While cruising along the open road, Sean suffers a flat tire in Arizona. Forced to stay overnight at a motel, he contends with noisy neighbors, amplifying his frustration.

After losing his wallet, Sean picks up a hitchhiker named Nick to help with gas expenses. Unbeknownst to Sean, Nick is actually a vampire hunter, setting the stage for a nightmarish adventure.

At a roadside rest area, Sean and Nick meet their noisy motel neighbors when asked to help jumpstart their red Charger. Nick recognizes them as vampires, while Sean remains oblivious to the true danger around him.

Nick brings a sick girl named Megan back to their motel room, hoping to help her. After a tense moment involving an ice bath and a morphine shot, Sean is bitten while trying to quiet her screams.

The next morning, Nick reveals to Sean that he has been bitten by a vampire. Sean is skeptical until he witnesses the red Charger and encounters more danger as Teddy attacks him shortly after.

As they stop for food, Nick explains the origin of the Forsaken, a group of vampires created during the Great Crusade. Sean learns about their history and what it means for his survival.

Nick and Sean devise a plan to find an old Spanish mission where they can confront the Forsaken. They realize that they need to find hallowed ground to have a chance to defeat the vampires.

While driving, Nick and Sean are relentlessly pursued by the vampires. They face dangerous collisions and near misses as their desperate escape unfolds along the highway.

The duo takes refuge in the home of an elderly woman named Ina. They soon discover her house is built over an old graveyard, offering them a tactical advantage against the vampire attack that follows.

In a chaotic battle against Kit and Cym, Nick is shot and Sean suffers a leg injury. They narrowly survive, taking advantage of the sun to defeat Kit, who meets his end as daylight breaks through.

With Kit destroyed, Sean and Megan are cured of their vampire afflictions, but Nick learns that he must continue his search for the progenator that turned him. The struggle is not over for Nick.

In the epilogue, three months pass as Nick is seen hitchhiking in Colorado. He is picked up by Sean, who is now on a mission to track down the remaining Forsaken, indicating an ongoing adventure.

As they drive towards Denver, Nick ponders the implications of their journey and whether the owner of the Mercedes is angry about the damage. Sean's light-hearted response reveals their newfound camaraderie.
