Erik Nietzsche, a shy young man, joins the Danish National Film School in the late 1970s, confronting hostile tutors, classmates and unwritten rules. He watches the industry's absurdities, falls in love and meets women who avoid commitment. The drama mixes comedy with a sharp portrait of the film world Erik strives to master.
