Rasmus defends his Ph.D. in Danish literature with a thesis titled “The Romantic Idiot,” but his niche leaves few job prospects. To pay off his study loan, he takes a temporary teaching post at an adult‑education centre in the provincial town of Korsør. There he encounters a colourful, interconnected group of students and locals, becomes involved in their lives, and falls passionately for one of his pupils, Signe, who longs to have a child with her partner Camilla. Navigating love and academia in Korsør proves anything but simple.
