A priest arrives in a remote town on a covert Inquisition mission to scrutinize a local miller. The miller, whose family rebuilt their ancestral house after a fire a century earlier, has inherited knowledge of the land, water and structural stability. His uncanny ability to locate water and predict building collapses draws the Inquisition’s suspicion that he is in league with the Devil.
