In a bleak New York City park, a former composer living as a homeless man, Romulus, is preoccupied with the past and determined to solve a Valentine's Day murder. Everyone believes the death was an accident, but Romulus is convinced otherwise. Haunted by visions of his deceased wife, he investigates the case, battling his personal demons while trying to persuade the doubtful police force to take him seriously.
