Billionaire Bruce Wayne, acting as Batman, delves into his two-year mission fighting crime. His latest targets are a gang of thugs with clown makeup, to whom he declares, 'I’m vengeance' as he intervenes to save a man being harassed.

Batman joins Lieutenant James Gordon at the crime scene of Mitchell’s murder. They discover a note addressed to Batman from The Riddler, containing a riddle that implies deeper corruption in Gotham's leadership.
