The Arrival

Zane Zaminski, a radio astronomer, detects an extraterrestrial radio signal from Wolf 336, a star located 14 light years away. He eagerly reports his findings to his supervisor, hoping to receive recognition for his work.

Upon presenting the evidence of the alien signal, Zane faces skepticism and outright dismissal from his supervisor, Phil Gordian. Undeterred, Zane persists in his scientific curiosity but soon faces severe consequences.

Due to alleged budget cuts, Zane is terminated from his position at SETI and is blacklisted from working at other telescopes. This sudden loss leaves him desperate for new employment opportunities.

In order to make ends meet, Zane finds work as a television satellite installer. Using his skills, he begins converting his customers' satellite dishes into a makeshift telescope array, continuing his search for the alien signal.

Zane enlists the help of his young neighbor, Kiki, who assists him with his secretive work from the attic of his home. Together, they aim to relocate and capture the extraterrestrial signal that Zane previously discovered.

Zane successfully relocates the alien signal, only to have it submerged by a stronger terrestrial frequency from a Mexican radio station. This setback intensifies his determination to share his findings.

In his pursuit of truth, Zane reaches out to his former colleague Calvin, only to learn of his sudden and suspicious death due to carbon monoxide poisoning. This shocking news propels Zane deeper into his investigation.

Zane travels to Mexico to investigate the radio station, but he discovers it has been reduced to ashes. This destruction raises questions about larger, more sinister forces at work behind the scenes.

At a nearby power plant in Mexico, Zane meets climatologist Ilana Green, who is defending her instruments against the plant's security. Their partnership sheds light on alarming environmental data that may be linked to Zane's discoveries.

Zane and Ilana narrowly escape after a tense confrontation at the power plant. Ilana shares her findings, further implicating the plant in environmental damage that could be connected to Zane's alien signal.

Zane uncovers that the power plant is a cover for an underground alien base where extraterrestrials are disguising themselves. This revelation offers insight into the ongoing threat to humanity's safety and environment.

After Ilana's death, Zane is wrongfully implicated in her murder. He escapes perilously from the local sheriff's office, determined to expose the truth behind the alien threat.

Returning to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Zane confronts Phil, who confesses the alien's intentions to commandeer Earth for themselves. This critical revelation is recorded by Zane as evidence against Phil.

With support from his girlfriend Char and Kiki, Zane races to transmit Phil's confession globally. However, the transmission is sabotaged, revealing Kiki's true identity as an alien agent working with Phil.

In a chaotic final showdown, Zane uses cryogenic gases to fight back against Phil and his agents. They narrowly escape as Zane broadcasts the incriminating tape, solidifying his commitment to exposing the alien conspiracy.
