Elena Mihailovna, a retired schoolteacher in a small town, receives a life-altering diagnosis. Rather than despair, she decides to proactively prepare for her death to ease the burden on her son, Oleg. They haven’t seen each other in over five years as Oleg is perpetually busy in the capital. Simultaneously, a surprising gift—a large carp—arrives, unexpectedly changing the course of her life and offering a new perspective on her final days.
