Set in Japan a decade after WWII, young detective Shotaro teams with the 50‑foot robot Tetsujin 28, bequeathed by his late genius father. He learns his father also raised another Shotaro, a repatriated soldier who can pilot Tetsujin even better. Their rivalry draws the assassin Morning Moon, who deems the younger Shotaro unfit, while the city faces danger from bombs planted by their shared father.
