Soriya and Daichi finally manage to break out of the claustrophobic apartment block after a frantic fight with Aunt Mao, but the escape is far from a clean resolution. In the hallway Soriya grabs an iron rod and, in the panic, strikes down Nimol, Mao’s innocent‑looking daughter, instead of her attacker. Mao’s scream fills the building, yet the couple and the taxi driver Jam manage to flee, and the scene briefly suggests a return to normal life: Soriya back in Japan, publishing her new manga, and Daichi safe beside her.

The illusion shatters the moment a stranger hands Soriya a glass of milk. The liquid, a habit of the child ghost Metta, reminds us she is still present. The film cuts back to Cambodia, where Daichi awakens bound in the “punishment room” he had seen in Soriya’s earlier nightmare. He is surrounded by the same candle‑lit cultists, and Nimol is nowhere dead—she lingers, pulling weeds as if she never died. Metta, the disfigured ghost girl, appears beside her, playing in a twisted sort of child‑like revelry.

Meanwhile, Soriya is shown sitting in the crumbling rocking chair that once belonged to the elderly woman at the centre of the cult. Her lips are stained with the same red lipstick that Metta favored, and the camera lingers on her still‑wide‑open mouth as the ghost’s presence overtakes her. It becomes clear that the ritual has succeeded: Metta has taken Soriya as her new vessel, perpetuating the endless cycle of possession that has haunted the building for generations.

The final moments leave both protagonists trapped in different facets of the same curse—Daichi restrained in the ceremonial chamber, and Soriya permanently bound to Metta’s haunted throne. The film ends on a bleak note, implying that the haunting will continue until another descendant steps into the apartment and the cycle begins anew.
