An ornithologist takes his wife, their son, and his sister‑in‑law, who is coping with an abortion, on a field trip to a deserted island off the mainland. An escaped convict appears on the shore, shattering their isolation. Though naturalistic in premise, the film stays fragmented: events stand alone, connections are indirect, and emotions unexplained.
