A paperhanger and his assistant are hired to re‑wall a sanitarium. The foreman leaves most work to the nervous helper, whose attempts often turn chaotic. Patients interrupt, and a nurse likes the assistant, to the foreman's chagrin. Amid ladders, paste, brushes and wild wallpaper, the crew strives to finish the job to satisfy the director.
