Maxime Chabrier, a chain‑smoking private detective in her mid‑40s, is the agency’s top investigator despite her disheveled look. She dates both men and women but hasn’t had a long‑term relationship since leaving her husband fifteen years ago. A case linking her ex‑husband to insurance fraud reunites her with 17‑year‑old son Baptiste and leads her to fall for economist Jacques.
