Professor Sergius claims his machine can travel faster than Earth’s rotation, allowing a trip back in time. He offers his daughter Rózsi’s hand to anyone who tests it. Count Ákos Tibor accepts; after dressing as a hussar, he and Sergius land in 18th‑century Austro‑Hungary where locals mistake him for a rich landowner’s relative, sparking adventures.
