Kids playing baseball are stopped by a man in Middle‑Eastern clothing who silences them. They hide with Mary, Farina and Scooter in a secret cave while Mary reads ghost stories. The same man is scamming people with a fake séance using elaborate effects. When the cave entrance collapses, the kids light candles, dig through the wall into a house, uncover the fraud, alert the police, and are chased by a man in a ghost costume through the house.
