At the start of the Edo period, when peace has settled over Japan, Lord Tokugawa Tadanaga stages a tournament that for the first time will use real swords instead of wooden practice blades. One‑armed Fujiki Gennosuke and blind Irako Seigen, both pupils of the legendary swordsman Iwamoto Kogan, clash in a brutal duel to prove themselves as his rightful successor. Only a single champion can emerge, setting off a tale of intertwined fates, ruthless conflict, and unsettling destiny.
