Branded as the greatest story ever told in motion pictures, the film follows humble Chinese sailor Yen Sin, who washes ashore after a storm and becomes an outsider in the devout Christian fishing village of Urkey. Though labeled a despised ‘heathen’, he chooses to stay and gradually exposes the deep hypocrisy of the self‑righteous community.
