In modern North America, construction workers uncover a stone cross and a wooden stake. Removing the stake revives Laura, a centuries‑old vampire who awakens mute, disoriented and with no memory. She recalls a 1897 life and a lover named Lazarus, while church‑hired vampire hunter Julian tracks her, only to find nothing is as it seems.
