When the mercenaries finally get Min Gi‑heon and the clone onto the research ship, Dr. Shin begins harvesting Seobok’s extraordinary bone‑marrow and IPS cells—hoping to clinch the cure that could save Min’s tumor and, perhaps, humanity. Min, who has grown attached to the young clone, intervenes, demanding that Seobok be allowed to live a normal life.

Inside the facility Min discovers Dr. Lim’s lifeless body. The scientist who created Seobok was murdered by the institute’s chairman, who feared losing control of the experiment. The sight drives Seobok into a blind fury; his genetically‑enhanced brain‑wave abilities flare, and he slaughters everyone on board except Min. Chief Ahn and his forces arrive, intent on destroying the clone, but Seobok’s psychic force crushes them as easily as paper, even ending Ahn’s life.

In the aftermath, the clone realizes that his very existence is a weapon that could doom humanity. He pleads with Min to end him, urging the only way to protect the world is through an “eternal sleep.” Torn between his bond with Seobok and the greater good, Min points the gun at the helpless teenager and pulls the trigger.

Seobok’s dying words echo the film’s central theme: death is unavoidable, and fearing it strips us of our humanity. “No matter how much you fear death, you cannot escape it,” he whispers, urging us to live fully in the present and use our actions to shape a better future.
