Village blacksmith Sekula is hard‑muscled yet soft‑hearted, yet his love life is a string of misfortunes. Over time a frail local spinster, a spirited belly dancer, a bull‑castrating veterinarian, and an aspiring singing star all come to his home, each staying only long enough to bear his child before departing.
