In Kovalam, Jeevan runs a busy restaurant and handles smuggled goods along with foreign currency. He is wealthy, enigmatic, and keeps his personal life tightly closed off from everyone. His influence makes him one of the town's most powerful figures.

Porinju and Kanthi, two jobless youths, meet Fabien who wants three kilos of heroin. Jeevan lends them ₹1.5 lakhs on the condition that they quit the drug trade after the job is done. The loan pulls him deeper into a dangerous underworld he rarely shows.

Porinju and Kanthi travel to Goa to secure the drugs and return a week later to Jeevan's restaurant. They inform him that the haul is ready, and he warns them to be careful with Fabien. The operation proceeds under Jeevan's discreet supervision.

Fabien arrives for the exchange at the lighthouse and shoots Porinju during the deal. Merlin, Fabien's girlfriend, breaks into Jeevan's house and steals around four lakhs in cash along with gold. The chaos marks a turning point for everyone involved.

Kanthi informs Jeevan about Porinju's death and Fabien's escape with the currency and drugs. Merlin has been assaulted by Fabien and left behind, while Jeevan and Merlin's fates become increasingly entangled with Fabien's escape. Jeevan faces the fallout as investigators close in.

Kanthi tries to chase Fabien but is killed on the road by his pursuer. The next day, police recover the bodies of Porinju and Kanthi, confirming the deaths in the case. Merlin's death by suicide looms over the unraveling plot.

The police recover Porinju's and Kanthi's bodies and Jeevan is named the prime suspect. He is arrested and, at the trial, is not convicted for the two murders due to lack of proof yet is sentenced to seven years for Merlin's death.

Just weeks before his release, Fabien visits Jeevan in prison and proposes a deal: help him escape in exchange for ₹5 lakh. The plan binds Jeevan to a new crime and a renewed grudge that will follow him after release.

Jeevan is released after serving part of his sentence but quickly returns to crime, planning to finish Fabien. His return to the underworld is marked by a brief stint in jail for a petty crime, showing his enduring ruthlessness.

On Gandhi Jayanti, with police distracted by celebrations, Jeevan escapes from jail in alliance with Fabien. Fabien pays Jeevan ₹5 lakh for the escape as part of their ongoing arrangement.

During the escape, Jeevan reveals his true intentions and finishes Fabien in a fiery fight. He returns to the van with Fabien's corpse, smiling as the law closes in elsewhere.

A voiceover sums up Jeevan's defiance and paranoia as he drives toward freedom. The film ends with him back at the prison, and Fabien's corpse confirmed by the cops later.

The closing reflection ponders the street lights that he will miss again and notes that the real evidence will be on him, everywhere. The camera lingers on his smile as the credits roll.
