Russia in 2000 marks the close of the post-Soviet era, and in the province of Ivanovo, the Mironovich family mourns the death of their youngest son, Andrej, lost in the war. His brother, Anton, honors Andrej’s final request by riding his motorcycle through the city at sunrise. Meanwhile, Anton's girlfriend, Vika, experiences a traumatic assault after a disco, and her mother tragically commits a senseless murder at their home. The events unfold with a sense of disorientation, suggesting a society grappling with profound societal shifts and a lack of accountability.
