In 1993, Liz Evans, a hairdresser and youth theatre leader in Carmarthen, Wales, spearheaded a campaign to prevent the Lyric theatre from closing. Partnering with then Mayor Richard Goodridge, she remarkably secured the support of Steven Spielberg, resulting in a special premiere of Jurassic Park being held at the theatre. Their efforts ensured the preservation of a vital community space and a testament to the power of local action.
