Borders have shaped Sansón’s life, first the psychological divide between Mexico and the United States, then the prison wall that separates him from family. Prohibited from filming inside jail, director Reyes reconstructs his story with letters and an untrained actor as his friend. The film examines migration, family, and the cruelty of U.S. prisons.
