A team of scientists discovers that a massive earthquake, known as the "Big One," is imminent and will devastate California. With just two days before the catastrophic event, their desperate plan involves triggering a volcanic eruption to redirect the earthquake's energy and attempt to stabilize the state. As powerful aftershocks trigger widespread chaos and destruction, the scientists face a frantic race against time to prevent California from sinking into the ocean.
