In 1985 Bogotá, Salvador Velazquez, a solitary tailor, finds his life unexpectedly intertwined with Isabel, the building's new elevator operator, leading to a peculiar and tender romance. As their relationship develops, they are increasingly affected by the city's atmosphere of paranoia, political unrest, and underlying violence, which looms over their budding connection in the days before the M-19 takeover of the Palace of Justice.
