Run Baby Run

The film opens with Sophie, a medical student, dying after falling from a building, setting a dark mystery in motion. The event hints at foul play and future investigation. The scene establishes a tone of suspense that threads through the story.

Seven days after Sophie’s death, Sathya, a banker who has just become engaged, visits a jewellery store to surprise his fiancée with an expensive gift. On the way back, he discovers a young woman hiding in the back seat of his car. Tara begs for help, revealing she is in danger.

Tara explains her peril and asks to stay at Sathya’s flat until her guardian arrives. He is reluctant at first but ultimately lets her take a guest room, telling her she doesn’t have to inform him when she leaves. This decision unknowingly traps him in a dangerous situation.

The next morning, Tara’s belongings are still in the living room and Father Vincent arrives to pick her up. He finds Tara unconscious on the floor, and the scene triggers a police investigation in the building, though nothing concrete is found at Sathya’s apartment.

Sathya consults Jai Ganesh, a police officer friend, who counsels disposing of the body to avoid trouble. The advice drags Sathya deeper into a web of cover-ups and fear.

On the road, Sathya’s car breaks down and he ends up placing Tara’s body in a van. The driver of the van finds the body and decides to burn it, fearing exposure. The next day, the driver is found dead by hanging.

Sathya receives a private call warning that if he investigates Tara’s murder, he will be next to hang. The police close the case, labeling the victim unidentified and the driver as having committed suicide, though the DSP’s inquiries hint at deeper links to Sathya.

The fiancée’s family cancels the wedding after leaked photos show Sathya with another woman. A truck then tries to run him off the carriageway, signaling that someone powerful is targeting him.

Sathya starts a real investigation into Tara’s murder, questioning Father Vincent’s assistant, Sophie's lover, and the hostel watchman, while avoiding attacks from unknown assailants.

Sathya discovers that the medical college dean orchestrated Sophie and Tara’s deaths, and Tara had seen photos of Sophie's autopsy in a file. The dean sends goons to capture Tara, and Father Vincent is killed as part of the scheme.

The dean murders Tara and destroys the server room to erase evidence. A compromising photo of Sathya and Tara is used against him as the dean’s plan is revealed: to funnel seats to wealthy students for money.

Sathya teams up with Sophie's lover and his gang to kill the dean, then hands the evidence to the DSP to expose the mastermind. The story culminates with the dean’s exposure and a sense of justice for Sophie and Tara.
