After testifying against drug lord Orosco, agent Maceda (Chris Sarandon) is pursued when Orosco is released. He hides at an empty inn in the Central Valley, where innkeeper Kat (Mariel Hemingway) signs him in. Deputy Gilchrist (Dennis Hopper) is suspicious, and agent Gere (Peter Coyote) rushes to protect Maceda before Orosco’s thugs find him.
